Planet 105 wins in court in name dispute

The Zurich Commercial Court has dismissed a lawsuit against Planet 105. The former operators of the bankrupt station 105 had demanded that the radio station not be allowed to use the name "Planet 105.

The request for precautionary measures has now been rejected. The plaintiff had argued that its Italian station 105 was broadcast from Milan to Ticino and could be received everywhere via the Internet. The court rejected this argument. In addition to court costs of 6'600 Swiss francs, the Italians must also pay Planet 105 compensation of 7'500 Swiss francs, Planet 105 wrote in a statement. Planet 105 - formerly Radio 105 - was rescued by Roger Schawinski in January 2014.
