New TV editorial team for business topics

Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen's editorial team in charge of TV is creating a new economics department, headed by Reto Gerber and Tobias Bosshard. The Economy editorial team will be responsible for various business programs.

The new specialist editorial team covers the programs "ECO," "SRF Börse," special programs such as those from the World Economic Forum or the Swiss Economic Forum, as well as all the business reporting from "Tagesschau" and "10vor10. Reto Gerber heads the specialist editorial team. He is assisted by Tobias Bossard as team leader for current affairs reporting.

More focus, more classification, more specialist know-how: this is the declared goal that Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen has been pursuing for some time with its daily news programs. The TV editorial team now wants to go one step further along this path and is creating a new specialist editorial team for business. Planning from a single source, a close exchange with the magazine "ECO" and, last but not least, a strengthening of business reporting in the online area are important goals of the new editorial team, which will be operational from the end of 2014.

The specialist editorial office for business consists of seven full-time positions that will be spun off from "Tagesschau" and "10vor10. The head of the new editorial department is Reto Gerber, who will continue to head the editorial department of "ECO". The specialist editorial department produces the program "SRF Börse" and realizes the economic reports and features in the "Tagesschau" and in "10vor10" as well as special programs such as from the World Economic Forum or the Swiss Economic Forum. This area forms a single unit and reports to Tobias Bossard, previously a producer at "ECO," as team leader for current economic reporting.

We have been pursuing this strategy at 'Tagesschau' and '10vor10' for some time. By setting up a specialist business editorial department, we want to make even greater use of our expertise in this complex subject."
