Nicole Althaus: From We Parents to NZZ am Sonntag

Nicole Althaus, Editor-in-Chief of Wir Eltern, has decided to leave the company at the end of August 2014. She is moving to the editorial office of NZZ am Sonntag.

Nicole Althaus took over as editor-in-chief of the Swiss parenting magazine "wir eltern" on September 1, 2010. As Journalist of the Year 2010 and a leading opinion leader on the role of modern women in society and the family, she was instrumental in the reorientation of "wir eltern". She is leaving AZ Medien at the end of August 2014 at her own request. A successor is being sought for the vacant position. Axel Wüstmann, CEO of AZ Medien, said in a statement: "Nicole Althaus has significantly shaped and developed our Swiss parenting magazine Wir Eltern as an excellent editor-in-chief. I would like to thank her for her successful commitment."

Nicole Althaus will join the NZZ am Sonntag as a member of the extended editorial team on September 1, 2014. Althaus will take over the newly created organizational unit Magazines. NZZ am Sonntag has recently greatly expanded its activities in this area with the real estate magazine Residence and the film magazine Frame. Althaus will also work as a columnist and author.

Before joining Wir Eltern, she was involved in the conception and launch of the mommy blog on Tagesanzeiger.ch, which is one of the most successful blogs in Switzerland. Her journalistic career began in 1997 at Landbote in Winterthur and then at Annabelle and the news magazine Facts. Althaus studied German and art history in Zurich and Berlin, graduating in 1994. In 2010, she was named Journalist and Columnist of the Year by the magazine Schweizer Journalist.
