Imprint and Syndicom condemn dismissal at the Baz

The press photographers of the Baz have recently been dismissed or faced the prospect of dismissal. Imprint and Syndicom condemn Baz's actions and demand an appropriate social plan.

This week five press photographers received notice of dismissal. Another person was announced the dismissal. This writes Imprint and Syndicom in a statement on Wednesday. The financial strength of the investors who own the Baz makes it clear that there is no economic compulsion for the dismissals.

Previously, the photographers had been asked to sign a "contract amendment". This would have degraded them to occasional freelancers without any guarantee of a degree of employment, the statement continues. At the same time, the fees would have been lowered. The two unions are therefore now supporting the affected members with advice and legal protection and are demanding that Baz negotiate an appropriate social plan with the social partners.
