IAB Switzerland: Positive conclusion at the AGM

IAB Switzerland, the trade association of the Swiss online advertising industry, draws a positive conclusion at its General Assembly. The development of the new specialist groups in areas such as networks, social media, moving image and creative is being driven forward.

The general meeting of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Switzerland at Au Premier in Zurich's main station was well attended with around 100 guests, according to a statement. The board was granted discharge and confirmed in office. The association looks back on numerous successful events, publications and healthy finances. For example, the annual Digital Marketing Day is now the central industry event. Overall, the activities in the areas of events, standards, training and in the other specialist groups sustainably strengthen the online advertising industry. In addition to the existing seven specialist groups, the Creative and Moving Image specialist groups have been launched. In addition, the board has decided to launch an advisory board in which major advertising clients will be included in order to discuss their needs and wishes in the digital market in more detail.

To further strengthen the board, Alexander Horrolt, Managing Director at Goldbach Audience, and Mirko Marr, Manager Market & Media Research at Publicitas, were newly elected to the IAB Switzerland board. "I am very happy for the trust of the members and for the many voluntary efforts in the Presidency, the Board and the specialist groups. Only in this way can we further strengthen the digital advertising industry and also expand international cooperation," says Ueli Weber, President IAB Switzerland.

International data

Thanks to the integration into the international network of the IAB, numerous studies and data could be made available to the members again this year, according to the report. For example, the Mediascope Survey provides Europe-wide data on media usage, with the data collection in Switzerland financed and methodologically supported by IAB Switzerland. Studies on online advertising spending in Europe, such as the annual AdEx Report, also provide valuable insights for Swiss market participants.

Mobile compendium presented

The new "Mobile Compendium", which will be published regularly by the Mobile Division in the future, was also presented at the General Meeting. It contains all the latest information on the Swiss mobile market and can be ordered immediately from the business office. Starting in 2012, this print product will be published every year and distributed to members and sent to agencies and advertisers. In addition, regularly updated information materials will reflect the rapid growth of the mobile advertising market.
