Presenter and journalist Catherine Mettler is leaving Swiss Radio and Television at the end of the year and joins Axpo as media spokesperson.

Catherine Mettler has worked for SRF since 1998, the company wrote in a statement Thursday. She started as an editor and reporter and from 1999 also took over the anchoring of the "Tagesschau". Since 2003, the 46-year-old has also worked as an editor and presenter of various voting and election broadcasts. She is leaving SRF at the end of the year and will join the corporate communications team of Axpo Holding AG in Zurich as media spokesperson on February 1, 2012.

Catherine Mettler: "My time at Swiss Television was extremely interesting and instructive. It was always a great privilege for me to be able to pass on information to the public in a factual way. Thanks to my work for the 'Tagesschau', I also met many interesting people. Now I am looking for a new challenge. The energy industry is facing a big change. Being able to follow this up close as Axpo's media spokesperson is an exciting task that I'm very much looking forward to."
