Mini Migros continues on tour

Around 18,000 children have already visited the Mini-Migros. A success - the tour will therefore continue in 2017.

Last August, Migros launched a play branch: on more than 100 square meters, children between the ages of 4 and 12 can play "Verkäuferlis" (salesmen) (Werbewoche.ch reported). The Mini-Migros is a great success, which is why it will travel throughout Switzerland in 2017 and visit various shopping centers and trade fairs.

The great run and the shining children's eyes convinced Migros to continue using the play branch. The most frequent comments from the boys and girls were, "What, is time up already?" and "I want to come back tomorrow!"

In the Mini-Migros, the children create their own world in the "Verkäuferlis". They can choose to take on the role of a branch employee, a customer or a logistician. Like the real Migros, the Mini-Migros has its own industrial operations and a sophisticated transport system. On the shelves, the young visitors find originally packaged toy products. Not entirely surprisingly, children have so far preferred to buy Risoletto chocolate with their Lilibiggs money. The "Candida Junior Mint" toothpaste was also popular. In fresh produce, the banana did best, while the cheese slices "Raccard assorted" were bought the least. The eager cashiers took in a total of 679,093 Lilibiggs francs in 2016.

Migros has developed the concept for the Mini Migros developed together with Marius Tschirky from the Hotz'n'Plotz agency. The experienced kindergarten teacher is best known for also being a successful musician with the band for children "Marius und die Jagdkapelle". "It was important to us that the children play freely. Without instructions and animations, they not only have more fun, but also learn a lot - for example, when counting, stacking, swapping and negotiating," explains Tschirky.
