The planning, design and construction of the new state-of-the-art newsroom in Lausanne took around eight months. Since today, Monday, the publications L'Hebdo, Le Temps and Edelweiss with their respective online offerings have been produced from the new, modern, 1,500 square meter premises. Ten employees are responsible for reporting from the Calvin city from a new office in Geneva. Ringier's significant investment in the new newsroom underscores its belief in the future of the titles produced from it.The newsroom will in future be organized by sections rather than titles in order to create convergence within the publications. The newly created role of Editor-in-Chief Digital across all titles - in the person of Gaël Hurlimann - ensures a balance of print and online content, but underscores the high importance of online for Ringier. The weekly magazine L'Hebdo is headed by Editor-in-Chief Alain Jeannet, the daily newspaper Le Temps by Editor-in-Chief Stéphane Benoit-Godet, and the women's magazine Edelweiss by Alexandre Lanz. The journalistic independence and individual identity of the titles remain untouched.
