When the most successful musicians are honored on May 8, at the 17th edition of the Swiss Music Awards, there will be someone on stage who has hosted the awards ceremony more times than anyone else: Melanie Winiger. The TV entertainer hosted the Swiss Music Awards from 2009 to 2016. Melanie Winiger was voted the youngest Miss Switzerland ever in 1996 at the age of 17. The Ticino native then worked as a brand ambassador, made a name for herself as a successful presenter on the international stage and starred in numerous films and TV productions. A life without music would be unimaginable for her. That's why the Swiss Music Awards are particularly close to her heart.

The same goes for her co-host: Annina Frey, who hosted the event last year. She is also an experienced TV personality: the 43-year-old from Basel gained fame as a long-standing presenter of the SRF people magazine "Glanz & Gloria". The trained actress has largely retired from the world of TV in order to devote more time to her great passion, music. Under the name "FREYA", Annina Frey is a successful music producer and DJ in the electronic music sector. She has founded her own label "Ascending" and mainly hosts music events.

The live broadcast of the Swiss Music Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 20.15 exclusively on 3+.
