In multilingual communication, companies across Europe lose billions every year with inefficient translation solutions. On the one hand, the same or similar texts are translated again and again by specialists. On the other hand, classic AI solutions repeatedly make similar errors that need to be corrected on an ongoing basis.

This is where the newly formed company wants to start. Under one roof, Supertext combines company-specific AI translation models with professional human translations. The AI continuously learns from the linguistic expertise of the translators and vice versa. The aim is for companies to benefit from a "standardized and simplified workflow" in multilingual communication while at the same time gaining security in terms of language quality and data security, according to a press release.

The consolidated team reportedly comprises around 120 specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence, linguistics, project management and security in Zurich and Berlin. In addition, there is a global network of over 3,000 freelance language professionals.

New management structure and planned rebranding

Samuel Läubli, co-founder and former CTO of Textshuttle, will take over as CEO of the new company. Läubli obtained his Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh and completed his doctorate at the Institute of Computational Linguistics at the University of Zurich. The UZH spin-off Textshuttle was founded in 2016. "By combining AI-based and human translation on one platform, we are creating a unique offering that covers all the language needs of demanding teams and companies from a single source. I am convinced that we have set the course for sustainable growth with this merger and I am delighted to be actively shaping the transformation in my role as CEO," says Läubli.

The new management team also includes Laura Fernández, previously CEO of Supertext Corporate, and Lucas Seiler, previously CEO of Textshuttle. The two Supertext co-founders and board members Fabian Dieziger and Rémy Blättler will support the integration of the two companies and take on active roles in strategic business development.

Initially, Supertext and Textshuttle will continue to operate under their existing names and drive forward the integration of all business units in parallel. The launch of a joint, fully integrated platform and a transformative rebranding under the Supertext name are planned for the end of 2024.
