Valora CEO Michael Mueller is calling for the analysis of customer data to be permitted in Switzerland, as otherwise there is a risk of competitive disadvantages.
Mueller said in an interview with the Handelszeitung: "If we stifle every evaluation by law, the industry will come under even more pressure, especially from providers from abroad." In Switzerland, there urgently needs to be a discussion about "how many restrictions we want to impose on ourselves." For this reason, he said, the retail trade in Bern must be more consistent in advocating relevant framework conditions. Mueller plans to massively expand the recently acquired US pretzel company Pretzel Baron. Mueller: "We currently have a single production line in the hall; there's certainly room for three more lines."
