A man in Cambridge received a "Fire TV" video streaming stick and a bag of popcorn within 13 minutes of placing his order, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced Wednesday via Twitter. Initially, two customers in the area will be served, then "dozens," and later "hundreds," Amazon announced without specifying a time.

Bezos presented a prototype of the drone in a TV interview at the end of 2013. At the time, many people thought it was an advertising stunt. In the meantime, Amazon has already named the service "Prime Air". According to previous information, the Amazon drones are supposed to transport packages weighing up to 2.3 kilograms within 30 minutes.

The world's largest online retailer is focusing on the UK for testing because the regulations there offer more freedom than in the home country. There, the drones are supposed to be supervised by humans during flight, among other things. Amazon had repeatedly criticized the regulations. Meanwhile, logistics companies are also testing drone delivery. And Google is also developing delivery drones, although the project has recently stalled with the departure of leading heads, among other things, according to media reports. (SDA)
