The new concept of the Swiss-Event has proven its worth. It is no longer a Swiss event, but was organized yesterday for the first time together with the German cinema marketer Werbeweischer and the Austrian ORF-Enterprises.

It is no longer a Swiss event, but was held yesterday for the first time together with the German cinema marketer Werbeweischer and the Austrian ORF-Enterprises, who have all been baking their own bread in Cannes up to now. The contemplative coexistence has become a strong and cheerful togetherness. And the exclusively positive, almost euphoric feedback from visitors guarantees that the event will definitely be held again next year. And secondly, that those responsible will work extremely hard to eliminate the event's last teething troubles. These included the fact that the portions of food served were a little small and there was no hot main course. As a result, after midnight a rather large group of Swiss people could be seen sitting stolidly in front of the McDonalds in Cannes, filling their stomachs. It's just that a cheeseburger gives us a feeling of home since you can get it on the Corviglia in St. Moritz, but on the other hand, and this is a top criterion for a party in Cannes, the hard drinks only ran out 10 minutes before closing time. That means something, because down here people don't drink towards the end of the week, they drink to excess. Which doesn't mean that the story gets out of hand. Because the fatigue that also sets in keeps any alcohol-fueled rowdiness in check. You just slump down here very comfortably. And this year in particular.
Unfortunately, the Events/Parties category is not yet listed in the competition below. But the organizers of the joint evening of all German-speaking countries definitely deserved the Golden Party Lion yesterday.text & photos: Beat Fritsch
