Spotify is taking this considerable anniversary as an opportunity to launch a spot featuring the grande dame herself, who doesn't take herself too seriously.
Everyone knows that the Christmas season begins when "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is blaring from everywhere - usually in early October. It's hardly surprising that Mariah Carey's song is one of the "best-selling modern day Christmas songs" according to Wikipedia.
But until now, no one knew that Mariah Carey was also pulling all the Christmas strings behind the scenes. In a one-minute video for Spotify, the American singer parodies herself. In the "Christmas Control Center" at the North Pole, she presses the green start button, which starts the transmission of her now 25-year-old song all over the world and thus officially heralds the Christmas season.
