The smallest McDonald's branch in the world is open

Nord DDB is humming its way into the hearts of fast food and bee lovers with a cuddly ambient promotion.

The Norwegian agency Nord DDB celebrates a movement that McDonald's started in Sweden - first locally, then nationally: The fast-food chain has installed beehives on the roofs of many of its branches. In addition, the company is turning all the lawns it cultivates around the restaurants into bee-friendly flower meadows. You can start somewhere - even if you're not otherwise known for being one of the most sustainable companies.

But when McDonald's changes something, it's usually not just symbolic, but has a direct impact because of the size of the company. Many restaurants, many new flowers, many new bees. Or as the campaign's successful claim ambiguously puts it: "Big enough to make a difference.

Ambiguous, because Nord DDB lovingly built the smallest McDonald's branch and handed it over to buzzing diners. And so even the smallest McDonald's restaurant in the world is big enough to join in the bee movement. Let's hope that McDonald's branches in other countries will also join the bee movement.
