To demonstrate the power of smells, Heimat, in collaboration with the renowned Stedelijk Museum, organized an exhibition in April and May that allowed art to be perceived through a sensory organ other than the eyes: the nose. Six masterpieces by artists such as Van Gogh, Lichtenstein and Mondrian were translated into smells by olfactory artist Jorg Hempenius. The sniffing museum visitors were thus shown how scent decisively influences the way we perceive things.

The action #artSmellery was part of the campaign Siemens used to promote the new Sensofresh odor removal program. This world first installed in washing machines is said to make it possible for the first time to remove odors from clothes that should not be washed - without chemical additives. (hae)
