Earlier this year, the Muhammad cartoons published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten caused tempers to boil and deadly protests around the world. Iran's largest newspaper, Hamshahri, responded with a cartoon contest on the extermination of Jews during World War II. The images were shown in Tehran as part of an exhibition on the extermination of Jews. This caused debate because President Ahmadinejad denies the Holocaust.

But further excitement is now to be avoided at all costs: The Jewish Chief Rabbi in Denmark, Bent Lexner, does not attach any significant importance to the publication.
