Founded in 1898, Hiltl is the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world, according to Guinness World Records. Once derided as a "root bunker," the Hiltl universe today includes several restaurants (including two lakeside restaurants in summer), catering, vegimetzg, cooking school, and an academy for vegetarian and vegan culinary arts.
Since 2006, Ruf Lanz has been ensuring that Hiltl remains on everyone's lips with crisp campaigns. "The Vegetarian Universe" was launched in February 2022 after the Corona measures were lifted.
