Dialect and mixtapes: This is how the ESAF sounds with Swisscom

As the king partner of the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) 2022, Swisscom has ensured that all visitors not only understand each other on site, but also digitally - regardless of their dialect. In the dialect social media campaign designed for this purpose and an event on site, Jung von Matt Limmat put the telecommunications company in the spotlight at Switzerland's biggest sports event.

"Mit dene Ginte im Grind bisch en schampare Göich!" - Is this saying from the Valais a flirt or a curse? Swisscom is asking its followers on TikTok and Instagram this question in the run-up to the ESAF. Two protagonists from different parts of Switzerland have to guess whether a statement is a flattering come-on or a verbal slip. Whoever guesses everything correctly and thus demonstrates a good knowledge of dialect is clearly ready for the ESAF. The social campaign, conceived and produced by Jung von Matt Limmat, was played out in a strategic mix of organic and paid assets and accompanied by a competition for ESAF tickets.

Swisscom not only provided support in decoding the various Swiss dialects, but also ensured that the network was stable and sufficiently strong for the 400,000 or so visitors at the Swiss National Congress thanks to its modern ICT infrastructure. Social quizzes provided information about the details of this extensive support.

Sounds and Colours

Once at the ESAF, a unique experience awaited everyone at the Swisscom stand: a live show in blue Space, an LED cube in which ESAF sounds and images were combined. DJ Passik recorded sounds and dialects from the ESAF over the entire weekend and mixed them into a unique set. The sound was accompanied by alienated Jass cards subjects with ESAF reference, which were created by the well-known illustrator Jens Riedweg. The unique location was accessible during the day as a selfie set for all visitors.

The Swisscom sponsorship campaign also included a TVC and online spots that showcased the diversity of Swiss dialects. All in all, Jung von Matt Limmat developed an appearance for the ESAF king partner Swisscom that paid off on the strategic orientation "Swisscom connects" and combined tradition and modernity.
