Twint rolls giant shopping cart to station

An oversized shopping cart serves as the centerpiece of the latest advertising campaign for the payment app Twint: Digital, as well as a physical installation at the Stadelhofen train station in Zurich. Twint thus draws attention to the app's potential use for purchases of all sizes.

Many of the approximately 170,000 travelers passing by Stadelhofen station on Aug. 31 or Sept. 1, 2022, will probably rub their eyes for a moment. With a giant shopping cart, Twint has heralded the current advertising campaign for the use of the Twint app as a means of payment in retail. Here's how Twint explains the campaign: "The message is literally impossible to miss: Twint is the ideal payment method for purchases of any size. Whether it's a week's shopping at the supermarket, shopping fun at the clothing store or buying a bike, Twint makes cashless payments easy, fast and secure, even for larger purchases."

Twint has established itself as one of the most popular payment methods in Switzerland. According to a survey by the market research institute Ipsos, no other payment method is recommended more often in Switzerland. The Twint app is not only used to send money to friends and family - it is also very popular at the checkout when shopping for the week. Around two-thirds of all transactions with Twint are made in the retail sector. The more than 4 million active users of the Twint app can make cashless payments wherever a QR code is visible on the payment terminal.

With Twint, even larger amounts can be paid easily, quickly and securely - in stationary retail at the checkout as well as in the online store. In addition to numerous smaller stores, Twint can also be used at wholesalers such as Coop, Migros, Aldi, Spar and Denner. Twint says its goal is to simplify the everyday lives of people in Switzerland through digital innovation. The focus is on useful, everyday functions that simplify payment and everything around it. Even when the shopping cart is bursting at the seams.

The Twint POS campaign will run until September 30, 2022. In addition to the physical installation at Stadelhofen station, the campaign will also be seen on billboards, DOOH screens, online, on YouTube and on social media.
