Scholz & Friends realizes energy saving campaign with DETEC and WBF

Together with the Federal Departments of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) and of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), the public and the business community are being sensitized to the issue of energy conservation and informed about ways of using energy in a resource-conserving manner.

Thermal images visualize energy consumption

The fully orchestrated campaign by Scholz & Friends Zurich has the motto "Energy is scarce. Let's not waste it." The campaign visualizes the tips with thermal images that show how quickly energy can go to waste. The first campaign phase starts on September 1. The core is the online hub Do not waste.chwhich, in addition to energy-saving tips, also provides information on the current situation of the national energy supply.

Over 40 partners are taking part. The aim is for as many private households and companies to implement the measures voluntarily so that there is no energy shortage in the first place.

Energy Minister Simonetta Sommaruga is optimistic

"I am convinced that together we can achieve a lot," said Energy Minister Simonetta Sommaruga at a media conference in Bern on Wednesday. It is not yet clear exactly how much can be saved with the voluntary savings measures. At the media conference, a possible savings effect of 8 to 18 percent was mentioned.

Most of the recommendations should be familiar, it continued. These include lowering the heating temperature, using less hot water, switching off electrical appliances or lighting, and cooking and baking in an energy-saving way.

The information will be accessible on the Website, on posters, in advertisements and on the federal government's social media channels. (SDA)
