Climate change is a moving issue. It is a topic of discussion in political debates, in the media and at the family dinner table. With the recently published planning report on future climate and energy policy, the Lucerne government council shows how the canton of Lucerne is meeting the challenges of climate change and wants to become climate-neutral by 2050.

Questions and answers about climate change

With the climate campaign "Lucerne becomes climate neutral", the canton of Lucerne now wants to show its population what net zero greenhouse gas emissions mean and what is needed for a climate-neutral future. The campaign addresses the most important questions about climate change and resolves them with understandable answers. After all, questions are the most natural way to approach a topic. Everyone asks questions about topics that concern them but that they don't understand or can't grasp.

The campaign was launched in mid-November by sending a postcard to all Lucerne households with an initial question tailored to the community in which they live. For example: "When will climate change come to Emmen?". After a brief explanation that climate change has long since arrived in the canton of Lucerne, readers were invited to post on the campaign website Lucerne-becomes-climate-neutral.ch to ask their unanswered questions. The canton's climate expert and other experts will answer the most exciting questions submitted. With a little luck, the questioners can win an attractive, climate-friendly prize.

In addition, the campaign elements are disseminated via social media, owned media and advertising on public transport. The campaign relies on a simple visual language by staging the climate issues in a big way and framing them with striking visuals. The monochrome background leaves the big stage to the questions.

The campaign can be followed on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #KlimaKantonLuzern.
