The PR Factory for the police: More security for online shopping

Online shopping is popular, but not without danger. Because paying with debit or credit card also calls fraudsters on the scene. That's why The PR Factory is launching a nationwide prevention campaign on card security for the police with #ufpasse.

Online shopping has become much more popular since Corona. In addition to credit cards, debit cards can now increasingly be used for this purpose. For this reason in particular, it is important that cardholders are made aware of what it means to use credit cards safely online.

The PR Factory developed a new campaign for the police as part of Card Security with #ufpasse. "The big challenge was the very heterogeneous target group. We are talking more or less about the entire population here. Almost everyone owns a debit or credit card," says Andrea Miolo-Eberhard, agency manager at The PR Factory.

Common mistakes made when using the card

The campaign focuses on the six most common mistakes made when using payment cards - across all age groups and genders. "These examples are used to highlight what should be avoided when shopping online to avoid becoming a victim of card fraud," Miolo-Eberhard said.

Online and on site

The campaign was launched on Monday and will be seen throughout Switzerland on social media and on various national online media until the end of November 2021. "It's important that the campaign takes place where the crimes happen - on the net, while shopping online," said Miolo-Eberhard "That's where we reach our target group best."

At the same time, however, the police are also raising awareness of the issue directly among the population with posters, flyers, social media posts and stand campaigns. This personal contact is intended to increase the impact and deepen the topic.
