Farner/Rod and "Freedom of Expression" say yes to media package

The non-partisan committee "Freedom of Expression" launches the Yes campaign for the media package passed by the Federal Council and Parliament with a nationwide campaign. Farner/Rod is responsible for the implementation.

The media package is essentially about comprehensive access to information and debates for political opinion-forming. As part of the nationwide launch campaign, the newspapers are for once paying homage to their competitors, with whom they otherwise fight hard for readers. Because when it comes to balanced political debates, all newspapers are important in direct-democratic Switzerland, finds "the freedom of expression".

Parliament adopted the media package in June 2021. In addition to an expansion of indirect press subsidies, Parliament also approved support for online media and general measures in favor of electronic media. Due to a referendum, the Swiss electorate is expected to decide on the media package at the beginning of 2022. (Werbewoche.ch reported).
