TBWA\Zurich and Coop ensure a magical Christmas with Nevi

TBWA\Zurich and Coop open the season of Wiehnachts campaigns and focus on the magic that only happens when people are there for each other. The story is told of the lonely snow monster Nevi, who finally becomes happy again.


Christmas is the time when wishes come true. But some wishes only come true with a little magical support. Like the one for a white Christmas. In director Tobi Fueter's two-part Christmas commercial, a real snow monster plays one of the main roles.

An adventurous brother and sister set out to find the lonely snow monster Nevi. After initial shyness on both sides, a very special friendship soon develops. The children finally surprise Nevi with a unique gift. The little ones' grand gesture manages to dispel Nevi's loneliness. And ensures that what everyone wants finally comes true: A white Christmas.

The elaborately produced spot is a mix of real scenes shot in Switzerland and CGI. Matt painting turned the summery forest into an autumnal-mystical backdrop for the snow monster. By the way, Nevi's character design was further developed by the internationally renowned top artist Michael Kutsche, who otherwise works for Tim Burton and other Hollywood greats.


Specially composed soundtrack

The moving story is accompanied by the soundtrack "By your Side", sung by 26-year-old Argyle Singh. The song was composed and produced by HitMill especially for the commercial.

In addition to advertisements, banners, DOOH, in-store and social media activities, there is a special mega-poster in Basel, which, equipped with a chain of lights, sparkles in the vicinity of Coop's headquarters in competition with the Christmas lights.


Audio book and painting activities

An audiobook with 3D sound effects, spoken by Jörg Reichlin, narrates the prequel of Nevi and takes children on a fairytale reading journey. The audio book can be found on all known streaming platforms. Painting activities around Nevi and a dedicated snow monster game in the Coop app round off the campaign.

The Christmas campaign, featuring the first part of the commercial, launches on Friday and can be seen on all channels.
