Solidarmed and Kind regards: The abandoned video call

On Friday, May 29, a hospital in Tanzania that supports Solidarmed will be connected for a day with a video call. This will be the first time that a Google Hangout becomes a campaign hub, where multiple visitors can join and share.

The experiment starts on Friday: Users can dial into a Google Hangout via a link and are connected via video link to a hospital in Tanzania supported by Solidarmed. Here, one gets a picture of the situation, and one can exchange information with other Hangout participants via chat, or go directly to the donation page. Not least because of the Corona virus, funds are urgently needed to provide enough nurses and equipment for the hospitals.

Meetings via video call have become the main place for exchanges both on a professional and personal level in recent months. As a result, people are now willing to accept a video conferencing tool as a new campaign hub, they know how to use it.

Via social ads from Solidarmed you get to the Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the moderated Hangout. After the Click on the link the viewer is presented with the backdrop of an empty hospital ward in Tanzania - only sounds can be heard in the background. This dramatizes the conditions on site - there is a lack of funds to run the ward. In the chat function of the call, the viewer finds a hint, which leads him to a corresponding donation page. This novel campaign mechanism is intended to publicize Solidarmed's strong commitment and generate donations.

Duration: Friday, 29.5, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
