"The DEAR Foundation" relies on an eye-catcher for its "DearMamma" campaign, which starts in Basel and will probably be extended to other cities: Giant letters on a BLT streetcar literally give the topic of breast cancer the size it deserves.

Since December 3, 2019, the streetcar of line 17 has been making the "DearMamma app" known to the public - also with the help of the breast cancer flyers that are on board the streetcar and were also realized by CR Basel.

The breast cancer app "DearMamma" developed by "The DEAR Foundation" is unique to date. Sonja Dinner, president of the private foundation and initiator of the project, says: "Our awareness campaign makes it clear that early detection of breast cancer is vital. Many women believe that an annual visit to the gynecologist is enough. This is not the case. Women are advised to examine their breasts themselves once a month. Our 'DearMamma app', which also offers a read-aloud function of all information, shows how."

The numbers speak for the urgency of the app: every year, 6,000 women and around 60 men are diagnosed with breast cancer. Of these, up to four women die every day in Switzerland. A breast cancer diagnosis cannot be prevented, but early detection can save lives. The campaign aims to contribute to a change in thinking.
