Reckless "waste disposal" in Myanmar/Burma contributes significantly to the progressive destruction of the environment. Especially children often drink water from polluted rivers or inhale toxic fumes from burnt plastic. To counteract this, the Pestalozzi Children's Foundation has launched the "Green and Clean Schools" project. Pupils plant trees and are taught how and why to recycle waste.

In order to attract supporters for the project, the Altenrhein Airport Agency developed a donation mailing that can be completely composted. The personal request to support the project with a donation, as well as the request to compost the mailing immediately afterwards, was not printed on a separate cover letter, but directly on the pre-perforated and thus easy-to-shred envelope made of uncoated paper. This envelope contained only a payment slip for transferring the donation, in order to create as little waste as possible.
