Bern Hotels advocates direct bookings with hotels

Although they can also benefit from a direct booking, more and more guests are booking their hotel stay via third-party providers on online platforms. Bern Hotels wants to sensitize guests to this issue with a new campaign.

When guests make their hotel bookings via a third-party provider, hotels pay the platforms between 12-25 percent commission. Direct bookings are therefore more attractive for hotels. However, this also applies to guests: they often benefit from lower prices or more advantageous offers. Bern Hotels, the association of Bern hotels, is therefore promoting direct bookings by means of an online campaign.
