Valencia creates the "world's most vivid infographic"

With a video produced in-house, the Basel agency Valencia Kommunikation is drawing attention to the topic of blood donation on its 18th birthday and giving interested parties the opportunity to become active themselves via social media and on 2outof20.com.

In Switzerland, 4 out of 5 people (80 percent) will need blood or a blood preparation at some point in their lives. But only about 1 in 20 people (5 percent) actually donate blood and only 2.5 percent are regular donors. For this reason, Valencia Communication put the theme of their staff outing to Valencia, Spain under the banner of blood donation. The result is a small digital artwork that highlights the situation in Switzerland and encourages people to share their commitment via social media.

Employee outing for a good cause

With 65 employees, the agency traveled to Spain in mid-May to celebrate the agency's 18th birthday and shoot an innovative video with a simple message: "Let's make it 2 out of 20."

All employees helped to creatively implement the message. Under the guidance of the Zurich graffiti artist REDL, everyone, whether consultant, web developer or creative director, worked on colorful boards that conveyed the message. With director Alex Kleinberger, an onetake movie (a plan sequence) was shot from this, which, in combination with sophisticated web technologies, represents the "most vivid infographic in the world", so to speak.

Giving something back to society

At the age of 18, you can also donate blood for the first time in Switzerland. Valencia Kommunikation wanted to give something back to society with this campaign and followed up with action: Of the total 75 employees of Valencia and its subsidiary cab, 40 people have already donated blood since the agency outing in mid-May. "We are particularly proud of the personal commitment of each individual," says CEO Michael Gerber.
