Bastian Baker is Cardinal's new brand ambassador

The Biel agency Erdmannpeisker has created a commercial for the French-Swiss beer brand Cardinal, featuring Lausanne musician Bastian Baker as a beer lover.

Bastian Baker is the new face of Cardinal. The start of the cooperation between the singer-songwriter and the beer brand is a TV commercial. This was realized by the Erdmannpeisker agency, as the Feldschlösschen brewery announced in response to a request from Werbewoche. In the 20-second spot, the 25-year-old Baker can be seen drinking beer with four friends in various situations, in keeping with the Cardinal Clam "à l'amitié", meaning "to friendship".

At the same time as the commercial, Baker is launching his new single "Five Fingers," which is also about convivial moments among friends, as Eric Schmidgall, senior brand manager at Cardinal, comments. Cardinal, as a beer of friendship and French-speaking Switzerland, fits the internationally known singer with roots in French-speaking Switzerland, he says. In addition, Baker's father, a restaurateur in Lausanne, is a long-standing Cardinal customer, which is why he has known the brand since his youth.

The spot was shot primarily in Fribourg and Lausanne. From April 10, it will start airing on RTS1, RTS2 and in the Swiss advertising window of RTL 9. Feldschlösschen is planning further activities with Baker as part of the campaign, but the company does not want to communicate these at this stage. (aks/pd)
