With Snapchat against oblivion

For Human Rights Day, Havas launched a campaign on Snapchat for the Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Society (GSTF) that doesn't just use the app as a channel, but takes its functionality into account in the very idea of the campaign.

Havas puts the special mechanics of Snapchat at the service of the Tibetan cause: In rapid succession, numerous picture and video snaps show oppressive facts about Tibet's situation, which disappear after a few seconds and are supplemented with the statement "Tibet is disappearing fast". Switzerland's first comprehensive Snapchat campaign thus does not simply use the new medium as a stage, but makes its function part of the idea.

For the worldwide distribution of the campaign, Havas cooperated with Vice Switzerland. The Swiss office of the international youth media brand made its Snapchat account Viceswitzerland exclusively available for two weeks from December 10 to make the Tibet snaps available to a wide audience. In addition, the campaign was featured - for the first time for a partner in Switzerland - in the Vice presence on Snapchat Discover, an exclusive channel that only just under 20 media portals worldwide have.

In addition, a microsite was designed, thanks to which selected snaps could also be shared outside the Snapchat universe. Posters, advertisements, and stand and flyer campaigns for Human Rights Day also made the campaign heard in analog form.
