Corvatsch storytelling: raven, she-devil and a white lake

Ferris Bühler Communications won a pitch from the Corvatsch company. The Baden-based agency was awarded the contract for the entire branding of the new Swiss mountain railway region of Corvatsch, Diavolezza, and Lagalb. The background is the merger of the mountain railroads and the joint marketing in Switzerland and abroad from summer 2017. Ferris Bühler Communications is responsible for CI/CD, communications, events, and media relations.

Both in the creation of the new logo - consisting of three individual logos that merge to form the umbrella logo - and in the copywriting and design of the communication materials, the agency relies on elements of storytelling based on three mythical creatures: The air world of "Corvatsch", the big raven, the fire world of "Diavolezza", the she-devil, and the water world of "Lagalb", the white lake, unite to form the fabulous mountain world of the Upper Engadine. "We were convinced that the overall idea of the agency is based on a story," says managing director Markus Moser, "moreover, we liked the simplicity of the new appearance, which nevertheless reflects the existing and established CI/CD of the Corvatsch Society in a modern way."

The presentation of the new image to representatives from tourism and politics was staged by the Baden agency with a spectacular event. The three elements of air, fire and water, or rather the three mythical creatures, played a central role: parachutist Dominique Dubois jumped out of a helicopter as the "Corvatsch Raven" and landed at the Murtèl mid-station, French-speaking Swiss burlesque dancer Emma Mylan seduced the guests as the "Diavolezza Devil" and sculptor Reto Grond formed the new Lagalb logo from a block of ice.
