Samsung and APG test 85-inch outdoor displays

Samsung, manufacturer in display production, and APG SGA, outdoor advertising company in Switzerland, are testing the 85-inch outdoor display "OH85F" developed by Samsung for the first time and exclusively in the city of Zurich.

On February 2, APG SGA installed an 85-inch outdoor display from Samsung for the first time in Switzerland - directly between the two shopping centers "Sihlcity" and "Brunaupark" at the heavily frequented "Saalsporthalle" stop of the Sihltal-Zurich-Uetliberg railroad.

The "OH85F" display developed by Samsung over the past few months is now being exclusively presented to the public as part of a test run lasting several weeks. This is the largest display available in an entire outdoor series from Samsung. The glass is vandal-proof and the anti-graffiti coating simplifies cleaning. The OH series devices can be used in temperatures from minus 30 degrees cold to a heat of 50 degrees without a special housing - thanks to IP56 certification in any weather. With a brightness of up to 2500cd/m2, the display is perfectly legible even in direct sunlight.

Michel Schauenberg, Head of Business Development Display at Samsung, is thrilled: "It gives us great pleasure to introduce our groundbreaking new product at a train stop. Thanks to all parties, we have achieved this premiere. This first installation in Europe will help show what's possible in Digital Out of Home Media." During a three-month test phase, APG SGA will broadcast the same content on the new Samsung display as on the Rail ePanels at Zurich Central Station. Advertisers will benefit from a free additional benefit.

In addition to feedback from customers and site partners, technical feedback is to be constantly evaluated as measurement data and the control systems continuously optimized. Light and temperature fluctuations in particular provide valuable insights here. The collected results form the decision-making basis for the possible application of the "OH85F" as a future next-generation City ePanel.
