The largest communications agency in northwestern Switzerland is expanding its Zurich location. After the acquisition of Cab Web Services last year with 20 developers in the area of CMS and backend systems, Zurich will now focus on digital marketing, interaction design, front-end technology and digital innovation. "Nueva" and is based on the 60/40 principle. The "Valencia Group" now employs over 80 people at the three locations.

For Michael Gerber, CEO of Valencia Kommunikation, Nueva is the perfect addition to the existing range of services: "We are happy to have found the perfect match in Remo Brunner. He is an ideal fit for Valencia, both personally and professionally. With Cab and Nueva, we now offer everything it takes for effective digital marketing: strategy, idea, design and development, all the way to distribution via the most useful channels. With nueva, we hope to be a magnet for advertisers who are open to new methods to promote and ultimately sell products and services in digital channels." The agency, newly founded in July 2017, is already working for clients such as Atos, AMAG, Coop and the Swiss Confederation.

Remo Brunner becomes partner and managing director

With Remo Brunner, an experienced communications expert has been brought on board who has helped numerous projects achieve visibility and success in recent years. Brunner started his career at Jung v. Matt/Limmat as a PR consultant, was head of consulting and project management at Hinderling Volkart and in recent years has worked as a freelancer for JvM, HV, Wirz, TBD, MRB, Thjnk, FCB Zurich and of course Valencia in Basel. In addition to Brunner, three other people are currently working at senior level in the areas of front-end and interaction design at Nueva. In the medium term, three to four additional positions are to be filled. The company is headquartered at Forchstrasse 40 near Kreuzplatz in Zurich.

The principle: 60/40 - A magnet for employees and start-ups

"If you want to work at Nueva, you have to bring your own business ideas," says Brunner. The background to this statement is the fact that over the course of the year, in addition to the 60 percent they work for Nueva and the Group, all employees will also spend 40 percent of their working hours on new digital business models. A joint decision is made as to which internal or external ideas are to be supported, and how and with what effort. In the case of external projects, more or less fees will be charged depending on the results of the specially developed evaluation process and the prospects for participation. Pure participations without any cash flow are also conceivable. "Our big goal is to bring new digital products or services to market and make them successful," says Brunner. For the "Change & Innovation" business unit, another company will be founded in the near future, in which senior employees and also external investors will participate.
