Wirz Group: Karin Lang becomes first Managing Director

Karin Lang, a former Wirz employee, is taking over the newly created position of Managing Director. The experienced consultant returns to the agency after thirteen years - and is to bundle Wirz's competencies in the Client Services area.

Wirz Group

Karin Lang led Geberit's international B2C bathroom campaign from 2019 to 2022 as an independent consultant in the field of communications. Prior to that, she served as managing director and member of the executive board of Publicis, where she was responsible for leading consulting for the entire group. Today, she is "back where she started her career: in the agency world," according to a related media release. And back at Wirz after 13 years."

Karin Lang attaches great importance to integrated working and has "many years of interdisciplinary communications and leadership experience on the client and agency side." As a Cannes Lions jury member, she also knows the importance of creative problem solving. "With her interdisciplinary approach, Karin will drive boundaryless collaboration within Wirz, but also with our clients*," Livio Dainese, Co-CEO of the Wirz Group, is quoted as saying.

Alignment as Creative Consultancy

In line with Wirz's new focus on "business problems, not just communication problems", Wirz's client services are to be adapted even more closely to the needs of its customers. To this end, Karin Lang will be assisted by Executive Business Director Simone Jehle.

"We want to collaborate more seamlessly not only within Wirz, but also with our customers*, so the new appointment of Karin and the support of Simone are further important steps towards achieving our mission," says Petra Dreyfus, Co-CEO of the Wirz Group.

The previous Head of Consulting, Managing Director and Partner at Wirz Campaigning, Catrin Bewersdorff, is leaving Wirz at the end of May after eight years. Bewersdorff started as Client Service Director on the Migros account and took over as Head of Consulting at Force Campaigning in 2019. She now has "an appetite for something new" and is taking time out on a summer sabbatical to reorient herself.
