Welle 7 - easily accessible from Zurich or Geneva, located in the heart of the federal capital, the concept center now offers a wide range of opportunities for shopping and enjoyment, working in the workspace or learning for the inquisitive. Westiform advised the Welle 7 project team on the building signage and was responsible for the survey, planning, engineering, production and installation of the exterior and the entire interior signage, as well as for its maintenance in the future.
Thomas Meyer, project manager at Welle 7, particularly appreciated the enthusiasm for the project, the short production time, especially for prototypes, and the uncomplicated assembly during the construction phase. He adds "through many other joint projects already, an appreciative relationship of trust developed, which made optimal solutions possible." The aim was for the signage to reflect what the Welle 7 tenants represent in their spaces. Above all, also outside of the shop opening hours. The roof lettering shows passers-by the way to Welle 7 by day and night and, with a length of 6.4 meters and a versal height of 1.7 meters, cannot be overlooked. The illuminated letters have a low construction depth of only 34 millimetres and have a service life of approx. 50'000 operating hours. A software-controlled LED assignment enables a homogeneous illumination while using as few LEDs as possible. The combination of the outstanding characteristics in terms of energy consumption, homogeneous light distribution, luminosity and the slim design makes this technology unique. All WF | Sirius elements were manufactured in the Westiform factory in Niederwangen near Bern in Swiss quality workmanship.
Thomas Meyer emphasises that responsible action is an integral part of corporate management at Migros. This is confirmed not least by numerous awards, such as being the most sustainable retailer in the world. It is therefore not surprising that the energy-efficient LED technology from Westiform was used for all illuminated advertising elements. The luminous intensity of the illuminated advertising can also be dimmed via a remote control and can thus be ideally adapted to the ambient light. The entire Welle 7 complies with the Minergie standard.
In addition to the energy efficiency and brilliance of the illuminated advertising elements, the project schedule is also impressive. The project was implemented in just six weeks from the awarding of the contract to the final installation. Accordingly, Thomas Meyer's overall assessment is positive: "We are very satisfied with the consultation, the implementation as well as the installation of Westiform and are convinced that this will also continue due to low maintenance costs".
