Westiform mounts the largest illuminated sign in Switzerland
Westiform installed the largest illuminated lettering in Switzerland for Coop. The lettering is 21 meters long.
More than 120'000 motorists pass the building of the new Coop production and logistics site in Pratteln BL on the A2/A3 freeway every day. A huge illuminated sign from Westiform ensures perfect brand visibility at this prominent location, day and night. It is considered the largest illuminated sign in the whole of Switzerland.
The illuminated Coop lettering has gigantic dimensions: the individual letters rise between 5 and 6.4 meters into the air, making them slightly larger than a full-grown giraffe. The entire lettering is over 21 meters long. In the dark, around 2,200 energy-efficient and ideally arranged LEDs ensure homogeneous illumination and brilliant color effects. The WF Libra lighting control system ensures further energy savings: Because only at dusk does the logo shine at full intensity. When it is dark, its luminosity is reduced by means of control and switched off completely during the night's rest.
In around 500 working hours, the illuminated lettering was designed and manufactured with foresight by the Westiform specialists and then expertly assembled. The interior of the individual letters consists of a steel framework, which is wrapped in an extremely durable stretch fabric.
