Compresso takes the cake

On May 11, 2016, Compresso took over the Kalanderplatz at Sihlcity for the release of "Angry Birds - The Movie". On behalf of Sony Pictures Switzerland, the agency turned the world-famous game with the angry birds into reality.

Using two oversized slingshots, Angry Birds plush figures had to be shot at the castle of the nasty pigs from the movie. There was already a large crowd, as the campaign appealed to the inner play instinct of the young and not-so-young participants. As additional motivation, Sony Pictures offered the prospect of attractive instant prizes and the chance to take part in the draw for the main prize, namely a week in Mauritius. The enthusiasm was great and soon the friends and business colleagues of the participants turned up to shoot the bird for once in their lives, spurred on by presenter Gianfranco Salis.

The slingshots were already in continuous use at Fantasy Basel from May 5 to 7. "Visitors queued patiently for up to 45 minutes to stand behind the slingshots made of real wood. The game was the attraction par excellence," says a delighted Marco Schärer, Junior PR Manager at Sony Pictures Switzerland.

Thanks to a media cooperation organized by Compresso with one of Switzerland's largest radio stations, the reach of the event was significantly increased. Striking radio spots were broadcast several times a day and on the day of the event itself, the station's entire website was dedicated to the feathered hotheads.
