The most prestigious Swiss companies
GFK Business Reflectors awarded the winners of the year 2016 on Friday. Migros achieved the best reputation in Switzerland for the third time in a row. Coop makes it to third place for the first time, displacing Swatch.
As in the two previous years, Migros is at the top of the 52 companies surveyed on all three dimensions, but has a particularly large lead in terms of emotional evaluation.
Rising star of the year is Actelion
Pharmaceutical company Actelion significantly improved its reputation, gaining 13 ranks. Andrew C. Weiss, Head Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, was very pleased with the award as Rising Star of the Year for Actelion and emphasized that it was the team effort that left a lasting impression on the public.
Lindt & Sprüngli in second place, Coop catching up
As in 2015, Lindt & Sprüngli came in second, while Coop made it onto the podium for the first time. Geberit, Swatch, Raiffeisenbank, Emmi and Swisscom also maintained their status as top 10 companies in the ranking. Swiss International Airlines and SBB are no longer among the ten companies with the strongest reputations.
Most sustainable company
On the occasion of the GfK Business Reflector's tenth anniversary this year, special attention was paid to the topic of sustainability. In her presentation, Cornelia Diethelm, Head of Sustainability & Issue Management at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives, used the example of Migros to explain why a focus on values also pays off economically. She emphasized that anchoring a sense of responsibility as a value in Migros' culture and strategy was the key to the company's third consecutive top ranking.
