Goldbach increases net profit to CHF 7 million

Goldbach Group earned more on the bottom line in 2015. Net profit after taxes and minorities rose to CHF 7.0 million after CHF 2.5 million in the previous year. This was helped by extraordinary effects.

An extraordinary result, in particular from the sale of the businesses in the Adriatic market region, contributed 0.8 million. In the previous year, in turn, the withdrawal from loss-making businesses had brought Goldbach extraordinary expenses of CHF 3.0 million. Goldbach has since concentrated on its core businesses as a marketing services provider in the Swiss, German and Austrian markets. But profitability also increased, Goldbach announced Tuesday. Operating profit before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 2.5 percent to 28.1 million Swiss francs. Operating profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 5.9 percent to 25.6 million Swiss francs. For example, profitability in the business of marketing TV advertising in Switzerland increased due to economies of scale and increased cost efficiency, according to the statement. Indeed, sales from this business increased by 6.4 percent in 2015.

Sales from advertising marketing in Switzerland - the Group's biggest revenue pillar - increased overall by 5.1 percent to CHF 414.2 million. Group-wide, sales rose by 1.4 percent to CHF 470 million. Adjusted for divestment and foreign currency effects, sales would have increased by 4.2 percent. One drop of bitterness is the Marketing Services division with the marketing agency Goldbach Interactive. Here, a loss of CHF 1.2 million was incurred at EBITDA level. Incisive measures had already been taken in the course of the reporting year, Goldbach wrote. Among other things, jobs were cut. (SDA)
