Grand Prix and Gold for Swiss Production Companies

With Lichtspiele and the SBB film "The Heartbeat of Switzerland", a Swiss production company was once again able to secure the Grand Prix in Cannes. Boutiq, Seed and Blush Films win gold.

The winners of the 6th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, one of the world's most important festivals for the business film industry, were honored at an exquisite Awards Gala Dinner on October 15 at the Palm Beach Cannes. More than 270 guests traveled from all over the world to the film metropolis of Cannes for the event. This year, the international competition again enjoyed a record number of 772 entries from all over the world. A 60-member, international and top-class jury of experts selected the best 152 entries to be awarded trophies in black, silver and gold. A complete list of winners is available on the festival website.

The Grand Prix Film 2015 - the big winner of the evening

The film production company Lichtspiele "The Film Agency" was awarded the Grand Prix for the best film of the festival for its image film "The Heartbeat of Switzerland" for the Swiss Federal Railways. In addition to this White Dolphin, the entry was also awarded one Golden and Silver Dolphin each and two Black Dolphins for Best Director and Best Cinematography. Lichtspiele "The Film Agency" was thus also able to snatch the Blue Dolphin, awarded for the first time this year, for the best production company of the year.

The jury found that the image film immediately captures one's attention. The way it was made was exemplary - the story great, the script and soundtrack perfect and the editing emotional. The overall concept and implementation impressed the international jurors.

"The film is intended to be an ode to people, the railroad and the SBB. The framework for the impressive close ups and macro shots is thereby the poetic approach to everyday railroad life through its own poem and the heartbeat as the center of the soundscape." That's how Marco Valpiani, Lichtspiele's managing director, describes the award-winning film. One of the film's concerns was to make the traditional company, which has been mobilizing the nation for decades, keep it in flux and connect it as the heartbeat of Switzerland, palpable. To give the film maximum authenticity, the heartbeat heard in the sound mix was generated from over 200 employee heartbeats, which were recorded throughout the country and then combined with the composed music in the sound studio to create an unmistakable soundscape.

Boutiq wins gold with doubt

The film production company Boutiq was awarded the Golden Dolphin in the category "Visitor Films" for its corporate film "The Test" for the Zweifel company. "International awards of this kind are important proof that Swiss corporate films also enjoy a high reputation abroad. For Boutiq, it is a special pleasure to be awarded for a real-picture film, as we are known for animated films," says Boutiq co-owner Philipp Zünd, who is also a board member of the Swissfilm Association.
