Bloom Identity: Brand identity for app of the future

Bern-based agency Bloom Identity created the brand identity for Twint, the digital wallet from Postfinance.

Payment by cell phone has not yet caught on in Switzerland. With the Twint app, Postfinance is now launching Switzerland's first integrated payment and shopping app. Twint is set to revolutionize shopping. From fall 2015, anyone who uses their smartphone for more than just making phone calls will be able to use Twint to pay for their purchases in stores, at vending machines, online or at events. And that's not all: thanks to additional innovative services related to shopping, people will be able to integrate the app into their daily shopping routine. Digital natives should love Twint - that is the goal of the brand identity that the Bern-based branding agency Bloom Identity has developed for the Postfinance subsidiary Twint.

Twint as a loyal companion - with this goal in mind, Bloom Identity worked out the future brand profile of Twint, from the definition of the brand values and the brand core to the positioning. What's special about Twint is that the brand must function above all in the digital world. Because Twint is reaching into the future - the app will reinvent itself again and again in the coming years with the rapid digital development. What seems impossible today, the app will make an issue of in a few years. Twint's brand identity is therefore aimed at currying favor with urban and digitally affine people. They should integrate the app into their connected everyday lives - just as they do with apps like Instagram, Airbnb, or Pinterest.

Tailored to this target segment and based on the brand values, Bloom Identity created a brand identity with an eye-catching profile that relies on catchy shapes and colors. The brand identity is supported by a visual world that tells stories from life. The word picture mark is based on a few terms that stand for Twint and thus for this app of the future. By visualizing these individual terms in explicit forms and merging these forms into a simple, graphic, emotional form, the future word picture mark for Twint was created.
