Fasting so that the good increases

"Those who fast do good not only for themselves but also for others. According to this motto, the two aid organizations Bread for All and Fastenopfer are jointly calling on people to question their personal consumption behavior before Easter - this year with a focus on food.

The calendar for Lent, with a print run of 2 million, shows on the one hand the connection between our eating habits and their consequences in developing countries - for example, how chicken meat from faraway countries drives small farmers there to ruin. On the other hand, it inspires with many ideas on how to experience fasting not as a renunciation but as a pleasure.

The Lenten calendar is part of the Ecumenical Campaign, which, accompanied by posters and mailings, is one of the largest sources of donations for the two church relief organizations.
