The new Managing Director of Mediapulse is Alice Baumann. The brand management specialist will take over as CEO of the national institution for radio and TV research on March 1, 2015.

"We are delighted to have found in Ms. Alice Baumann the personality who will assume overall responsibility for our company, which is active in usage research, represent the company externally and be responsible for the commercial management of our organization. She will bring to Mediapulse her rich experience from a wide range of activities in the management, communications and media sectors," says Franziska von Weissenfluh Stäheli, President of the Board of Directors and Foundation Board. Baumann's task, she says, is to implement the revised strategy with structural adjustments and process flows and, together with the research department, to actively tackle the challenges of digital transformation.

Alice Baumann has helped shape numerous change management projects. As a dedicated co-founder and co-owner of an agency for strategic brand management, she has led challenging transformation and succession processes as well as complex communication projects to success with clients from large corporations, SMEs and NPOs. "I am looking forward to the challenge of leading Mediapulse with a strong research team into an exciting era of technological development in audio, video and internet and thus the changing use of media," Alice Baumann said in a statement. "We will accomplish this strategic realignment with clear goals in mind and sporting ambitions, doing everything we can to fulfill the wishes of our various stakeholders."

Baumann holds a Master's degree in Corporate Communication Management and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Social Media Management. Further training at the HSG University of St. Gallen and the ZfU Center for Corporate Management expanded her knowledge of corporate management. She also has profound knowledge of the Swiss media landscape and the digital challenge. As a diversified entrepreneur, multiple board member, head of communications of various organizations and long-time employee of a business newspaper, she is well connected in the Swiss economy. She also looks back on a long career as a media professional for print media and Radio SRF.

The Mediapulse Group, which is currently undergoing restructuring, employs a good 30 people. It measures and markets the official radio and television ratings. The daily data from the two measurement systems (Mediapulse radio and television panels) are used by broadcasters for programming and by the advertising industry for selling advertising to specific target groups. Their services are the basis of the entire Swiss advertising market, which manifests itself in the electronic media. With a budget of 20 million Swiss francs, Mediapulse indirectly influences 800 million Swiss francs of advertising money. The supervisory authority is the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications Uvek, led by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard.
