Hit it and skim it

"Shopping experience" par excellence: On October 25, 2014, MAS MMC students from HTW Chur turned unsuspecting passers-by at the Mythen Center Schwyz into rock stars.

Anyone who visited the Mythen Center on Saturday, October 25, 2014 was amazed. There was a drum kit in the middle of the Octagon with an arrow above it saying "Hit it". Eight visitors followed the invitation and sat down at the drum kit. Nobody expected what happened next: A wild glam rock band appeared out of nowhere and made the shopping center shake. The courage of the completely surprised participants was rewarded with a shopping voucher.

The hybrid event was organized by the students of the MAS Multimedia Communication at HTW Chur. The students were given the task of organizing a hybrid event - what and where was left open. "The special thing about this event format is that the visitors are part of the action," says Olivia Spinatsch, student and communications manager for the project. And that is by no means the only highlight. "As the event is filmed and the video is then distributed via social media platforms, participants have the opportunity to watch, rate, comment on and share the event again and again." And hopefully this will also happen with the video produced by the students, which is now available on the Mythen Center's YouTube channel. "We are looking forward to lots of clicks, likes, shares and, of course, comments." An interesting side note: the song was composed and sung by a fellow student for the occasion. (hae/pd)
