The year of advertising: competition starts

From September 1, the Year of Advertising is once again inviting people to compete and is looking for the next Megaphone award winners, the Newcomer Agency of the Year 2014 and young talents in the Campus competition for up-and-coming talent.

From September 1 to October 17, 2014, the Year of Advertising competition gives agencies and companies the opportunity to showcase outstanding individual achievements and campaigns in the categories of print, out-of-home, film, audio, direct marketing, promotion and digital media.

Last year, two Swiss companies were among the award winners: Swisscom won the gold megaphone in the Out of Home category with its "All Eyes on the S4" campaign and Pitsch Sport, together with Agentur am Flughafen, won the bronze megaphone in the Direct Marketing category for its Skiwaxbrief. Since August 11, young agencies have also been able to apply for the title of Newcomer Agency of the Year 2014 free of charge. Agencies that were founded after January 1, 2012 are eligible. They will be judged on the quality of their creative services, their commercial success and their communication measures on their own behalf. In addition to the prestigious title, the winner will receive a voucher for 5,000 euros, which can be used in the regular competition. Registration and further information at Jdw.de/newcomer. From September 1 to 30, 2014, the Campus competition for young talent is looking for inspiring university theses (Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma) in the fields of communication design, media design and advertising. You can also register and present your work free of charge at Campus.jdw.de the graduates take part. New this year is the second round of judging, in which the shortlisted students present their work directly to the jury once again.

All award winners, the jury's shortlist and the works included in the industry comparison will be presented in the 2015 Year of Advertising book, which will be published in April. The winners will also be honored at the awards ceremony in Berlin at the end of January.
