Clear Channel expands presence in Basel

Clear Channel has been awarded the contract by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe for advertising space on their buses.

The specialist for effective outdoor advertising is expanding its transport advertising portfolio. In addition to the existing advertising spaces on the buses and streetcars of Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) and at public transport stops in Bern, Clear Channel has been awarded a contract by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB) to install new advertising spaces on their buses. The bid comprises a total of 80 F12 and F200 panels on the outside of the buses.

Thorsten Weber, Product & Infrastructure Director Clear Channel Switzerland, is enthusiastic: "The agreement with BVB confirms our strategy to expand our presence in the most important cities and conurbations in Switzerland. As the third largest Swiss city, Basel occupies an important position in this respect and we are delighted to have been awarded the contract by BVB, which ideally complements our existing portfolio."

BVB's 300 streetcars and buses carry 3,600,000 passengers a day on a network of 180 km. Hans-Georg Bell, Head of Advertising at BVB, confirms the customer need for standard advertising spaces that can be booked at short notice: "Demand is increasingly shifting from long-term advertising contracts to short-term campaign orders. We want to meet this need and get to know our customers' wishes even better with this pilot project."
