Cannes Lions Festival launches Innovation Day

The Cannes Lions Festival launches the "Innovation Day" and thus provides exciting insights into technology innovations. In addition, the organizers appoint Microsoft as a Technology Innovation Partner.

The Cannes Lions creative festival, which will take place in Cannes from June 15 to 21, will host the so-called "Innovation Day" for the first time, which will take place on June 21 and will present technological and creative innovations within this framework. The "Innovation Day" will include various seminars where personalities such as Kevin Sellers and Genevieve Bell from Intel or Winston Binch, co-founder of Boulder Digital Works will speak. On this day, delegates will also have the opportunity to win a flight into space. Video advertising platform Virool will be giving away a seat on the "Virgin Galactic" rocket for a flight in 2015. Details on how to win the prize will be announced by Virool during their talk on June 21.

Live presentation of the shortlist works

On Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 June, the 30 shortlisted works from 16 countries selected by the jury will be presented. Each team will have during 10 minutes to present their work in front of the jury and delegates. The winners will be revealed at the Award Show on Saturday, June 21.

The three-year partnership between Cannes Lions and Microsoft means that this year, for the first time, all works in the Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, PR, Design, Product Design and Mobile Lions categories can be viewed in the exhibition area on Microsoft devices (tablets, Windows Phones), enabling a truly digital experience.
