Habegger wins Export Award 2014

The company Habegger from Regensdorf (ZH) has already implemented three huge event projects in Qatar and founded its own branch office with a European managing director in Doha in January 2014. The company has been realizing complex event projects in an international environment for years. In the Arab region, this included a comprehensive technology and lighting project for the Asian Games in 2006, an elaborate lighting project for an entire city district in Doha in 2013 and a decoration project for National Day with large-scale flower carpets in Doha's public spaces. The collaboration in Qatar has resulted in trusting business contacts in the Gulf state, which have encouraged Habegger to establish itself directly on site as a service provider and tackle new large-scale projects, as the company writes in a press release. Qatar's national vision (Vision 2030), which aims to position the country as a sports and knowledge center in the Arab region and for which major international events and congresses are planned, has contributed to this. As Managing Director, Thomas Wasshuber manages the business of Habegger Productions LLC in Doha on a daily basis. Habegger sees the future of the event in the Arab region and is anticipating major projects for sporting events and congresses in Qatar.

The Export Award was presented for the seventh time as part of S-GE's annual foreign trade forum in front of around 700 guests. With this award, S-GE (formerly OSEC) honors companies whose market entry or strategy for market entry abroad is considered successful and innovative. A ten-member jury assesses the projects submitted and honors one Swiss company in each of the "Success" and "Step-in" categories with this recognition award. Ruth Metzler-Arnold, President of S-GE, presented the award to the two winners at Messe Zürich.
